Salon themed "The Belt and Road In My Eyes" was held at TEDA College

On December 7, the salon themed "'The Belt and Road' In My Eyes” was held at the alumni home of TEDA College. This event is organized by TEDA College and Software College and a total of more than 50 teachers, students, enterprise representatives and international students from 18 countries participated in the activity.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the the Belt and Road initiative, and the third the Belt and Road International Cooperation Summit Forum was held in Beijing from October 17 to 18. Against this background, the salon event aims to enhance the conservation and discussion among scholars and students in Nankai University, representatives from enterprises and foreign students living in China, especially those from countries along the the Belt and Road, share and review the 10-year history of the the Belt and Road initiative and the cooperation achievements of countries along the route and at the same time to explore and foster future cooperation.

At first, Zhang Yuzhi, Dean of Teda College and Software College gave the opening remarks. He expressed welcome to the leaders, scholars, and students who participated in the salon. He hoped that this salon could be a platform for communication among teachers, students, and enterprises. He also hoped that international students participating in the master program sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China could leverage the advantages of numerous surrounding enterprises to strengthen their communication with enterprises, play a good role of matchmaking for its country to participate in "the Belt and Road" construction and cooperation with Chinese enterprises.

Subsequently, Professor Lin Runhui, Vice Dean of TEDA College and Business School, gave an excellent speech. He described in detail the background, significance, development process and cooperation achievements of countries along “the Belt and Road” Initiative, and elaborated through vivid cases the important role of “the Belt and Road” Initiative in promoting globalization, promoting regional cooperation and promoting economic growth.

What do you think of "the Belt and Road" Initiative? How does the BRI contribute to infrastructure construction and improvement? Do you have any examples of the BRI to share?What can governments and enterprises do to make the BRI a better public good? What is the infrastructure, information technology infrastructure in your country? How to develop better? How can the BRI help? In the subsequent discussion session, participants shared their understanding and views on "the Belt and Road" initiative, and held heated discussions on the development direction of "the Belt and Road" initiative, the cooperation prospects of countries along the route, and other related issues.

The salon was co organized by TEDA Academy, TEDA College Alumni Home, and the Master Program sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of China, and was supported by the Science and Technology Innovation Bureau of Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Area and many enterprises. It has built a platform for exchange and cooperation between foreign students from countries along "the Belt and Road" and Chinese enterprises, teachers and students of universities, and enhanced mutual understanding and friendship.
